Had a great time on the course, instructors and placement team were all amazing!

A few hiccups in the beginning with not finding out about the university program until after booking everything. Which was followed with more required payments.

But nonetheless, having a great time in my new job at Saiaksorn and bery glad I took this jump to Thailand.
Can see myself here for a long time.

Best life decision to date

I recently completed my TEFL course with Xplore Asia, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! The training was thorough and incredibly well-structured. Our instructor, Gary, was fantastic — knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely passionate about teaching. The practical teaching sessions with local students were especially valuable and gave me real confidence in the classroom.

Now that I’m placed in my school, I can honestly say I love it here. The environment is welcoming, the students are honestly amazing, and I feel so, so happy right now. I'm truly grateful to Xplore Asia for making this journey possible!

Sometimes along the journey, you expect things to unfold a certain way — but life has a way of surprising you. What you thought you didn’t want can turn out to be exactly what you needed, and often, it works out even better than you ever imagined. Don’t give up when things seem hard, it will all pay off in the end!

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
If I could do this all over again, I’d tell myself to just relax and trust the process. It’s so easy to get caught up in stress and panic when things don’t go as planned, but looking at how everything turned out, I definitely could’ve let go a little and enjoyed the experience more!
Pros
  • Massive confidence booster
  • Placed in an amazing school
  • Made friends for life
Cons
  • Moments of uncertainty can cause stress

Amazing Experience and Support

They were very helpful and friendly from the start, guiding me through the TESOL course, job placement, and settling in Thailand. They helped me find an apartment, offered lesson planning support, and made the move smooth and stress-free. Years later, they still supported me by providing a recommendation letter. I’ve now been teaching in Asia for six years and love it. I wouldn’t be where I am today without their amazing support, guidance, and genuine care throughout the journey. Just want to thank them for an amazing service!

Best preparation for a new adventure

From the moment I was put in touch with Xplore Asia the process was extremely straightforward and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Questions were answered before they needed to be asked the whole process was made so easy by their attention to detail. This didn’t stop upon arrival either. Everything was extremely well organised and logical.Every effort was made to ensure that everyone could get the most out of the week and set us up to succeed in the daunting challenge of living in a new country Would definitely recommend to anyone interested in pursuing a similar opportunity.

Review of Xplore Asia

I give Xplore Asia five stars! Xplore Asia has done a great job of supporting me during my job search and location search. They were very transparent, responded in a timely manner, and made sure we had the best fit for positions. During orientation week, they prepared us for life as a English Teacher in Thailand but giving us an idea of Thai culture, tradition, customs, language, and food, as well as any type of issues that may arise. I am very grateful for finding this program and encourage others to do so.

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?
I ate a scorpion one time at a Thai market. I thought it was okay. I didn't feel disgusting eating it but didn't think it was the greatest thing I ate either. A lot of protein! You will feel full after one bite.
Pros
  • Supportive
  • Transparent
  • Timely answers to emails
Cons
  • I think Xplore Asia could do a better job with a cost breakdown for everything in the program. I understand that some people were having issues with finding out about costs at the last minute.

Best Decision I've Ever Made

I loved every second of my experience in Thailand and it wouldn't have been possible without Xplore Asia. Before even arriving in Thailand, people are there to support you every step of the way. Once I got to Thailand the support got even better. You have a week-long orientation where you get to meet other teachers, learn about the culture, and get support with your teaching placement, accommodation, and travel. Once you are at your placement, they are always checking in as well. 10/10 recommend!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Thailand has such an amazing energy and culture from the food to the people. Everyone is so welcoming and truly wants you to love their country that they are so proud of. My advice would be to embrace that culture and energy fully. Eat where the locals eat. Visit the local markets and temples. Learn how to make the local food. Take a Muay Thai class (this was my favorite thing I did). Just explore the city or town you end up in and you will find amazing experiences and gain the best memories.
Pros
  • Amazing support from Xplore Asia at all times
  • The culture and energy of Thailand
  • Getting to learn and grow as a teacher and person

My amazing 14 months in Thailand.

My program started end of May 2023 and l really was nervous because it was my first time going to be away from home for such a long time ,however with the constant support of XA they made it less worrying. I left South Africa already placed at a school in a fishing village which was my requirement to not be placed in a big city. Throughout my placement XA ensured that l was taken care of in terms of my visa applications and my accommodation needs.

I really struggled with the teaching part , there were many days l would feel like quitting however talking and sharing with the other foreign teachers helped a lot because l understood their own challenges also and made me realize l was not alone. At the end of my 6 months in October l decided l wanted to go back home as l was missing my family however after spending 2 weeks travelling and exploring Thailand l decided to give the program another shot , that was the best decision ever. XA then assisted me with the second placement , now in city and the experience there has been nothing but life changing , l have found my voice , my confidence in teaching is strong. I have developed strong bonds with other foreign and local teachers.

In the 14 months of being here in Thailand l have truly grown as an individual and in my passion of teaching. I get to travel during long weekend and explore this beautiful country and mingle with people and understand their culture better. This for me has been the best year of my life.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
The most nerve-wracking moment for me as a new teacher in Thailand was the first day of class ,facing a room full of students with potential language barriers and cultural differences. Overcoming this meant l had to prepare in advance for my lessons ,be flexible and open to new teaching methods.
Pros
  • Travelling Opportunities , teaching in Thailand has given me the chance to explore different locations during weekends and holidays as well as easy access to other Southeast Asian countries.
  • Cultural immersion
  • Welcoming community
Cons
  • Language barrier
  • Separation from family
  • Cultural differences

My experience was cool, new country and culture, great team and new knowledge. Great support from the company, team and organization.it is a new opportunity to expand yourself in a new environment and to share with others about your vision and your knowledgesIt was also a unique experience for me, as I had no idea how children learn a foreign language, and thanks to this program I now have an idea and experience in this. It's also a good experience to look at your adaptation and look for ideas to solve different situations.
